SCORE InternationalOffroad-Motorsport, made in USA SCORE International is the most important motorsport organisation for offroad racing in the US. The Baja 300 Powerdays presents this spectacular sport with SCORE International for the first time in Europe - the start of a great development in European motorsport. SCORE stands for "Short Course Off-Road Enterprises". The organisation was founded in 1973 by the popular American offroad and dragster pilot Mickey Thompson. Sal Fish, who at that time published the popular US offroad and tuning magazine "Hot Rod", was contracted by Thompson to manager SCORE. Within a few years, under the management of Thompson/Fish, SCORE became the leading organiser of offroad competitions in America. The breakthrough as the only organiser for offroad races came when Mickey Thompson and Sal Fish hosted the Baja 1000, the world’s most important offroad race, even serving as a model for the Dakar Rally. In 1992 SCORE merged with the rival enterprise High Desert Racing Association (HDRA) which further strengthened the stance of SCORE. Finally, it was the cooperation with TV station ESPN, which broadcasts most of the SCORE events live, that turned SCORE into a household name for motorsport fans in America.
